The Location
Sasbachwalden, Lauf and Sasbach-Obersasbach together form the “Enchanting Sasbachwalden Holiday Region”. Not only because of the flower-decorated, half-timbered houses, historical buildings and wonderful views, but also because of the unique location between the Rhine and the Black Forest High Road at 150 m to 1,164 m above sea level.
Located in the middle of the city triangle Baden-Baden - Strasbourg - Freudenstadt, the place is a suitable starting point for excursions to the entire Black Forest area, to the Vosges and to the worthwhile excursion destinations in the Upper Rhine area.
Due to the mild climate, the community is located in one of the most fertile areas in Germany. Many types of fruit and wine thrive here. Baden wine is widely known for its goodness and quality. Of the fruit varieties, the sweet cherry, from which the well-known “Black Forest Kirschwasser” is distilled, and the “Bühler Frühzwetschge” are particularly worth mentioning.
